P407-M fund went to lawmakers, says whistleblower’s counsel

MANILA, Philippines—The Department of Justice (DoJ) is also eyeing the possibility of filing a separate complaint with the Office of the Ombudsman on the misuse of P407-million fund.

Counsel for the whistleblower, lawyer Levito Baligod, said this P407-million is non-pork barrel-related but there are lawmakers who benefitted from the fund.

The P407 million is a fund from a government agency which Baligod refused to identify for now.

“This is an agency fund and the agency favored these lawmakers as well as non-government organizations of Janet Lim-Napoles,” Baligod told reporters Tuesday.
