QC fire leaves 200 families homeless
AROUND 200 families were displaced when a fire razed rows and rows of houses in Quezon City Monday afternoon.
The blaze, which was reportedly caused by a faulty electrical system, destroyed 100 houses on Balud Street in Barangay (village) Culiat.
Initial reports reaching the Bureau of Fire Protection showed that the fire began at 1:54 p.m. in the house of Edgar Tabigli. It quickly spread throughout the neighborhood since most of the houses were made of light materials.
The fire was further fanned by explosions due to leaks coming from liquefied petroleum gas tanks. Firefighters finally put out the blaze at 3:15 p.m. after it reached Task Force Bravo with no deaths or injuries reported.—Julie M. Aurelio
