Penultimate leg of Smart taekwondo slated today
THE PENULTIMATE leg of the 2013 Smart-Philippine Taekwondo League (PTL) unfolds today at the SM City in Consolacion town, northern Cebu.
Leading the cast of teams who will be seeing action today is the University of Cebu (UC), who will be eyeing its second win in as many games in the boys’ division of the tournament, which is supported by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) and the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC).
The UC fighting Webmasters will try to solidify their hold on the second spot and brighten their chances of taking the lead in the cadet boys division. The UC cadet boys squad is presently perched at the second spot of the cadet boys division in the tournament with a 2-0 (win-loss) card.
A win by UC and a loss by the University of San Carlos (USC), who is also seeing action today versus a separate foe, would put UC atop the division entering the final round set on Nov. 17.
Set to meet the bets of UC in the 12-to-14-year-old cadet division is the Cebu Cherish team, which is currently at third place with a 2-1 record.
USC, for its part, will target its third straight victory in as many games when it faces the Cabancalan National High School in the cadet boys division.
