ARRESTED barber Lyndon Hurandoy yesterday confessed to being the gunman who shot dead Cebu City Prosecutor Patrick Brian Osorio in 2009.
But police remained mum on the motive behind the action of the hired gunman.
Hurandoy yesterday signed in the presence of news reporters s a statement admitting that he had shot Osorio.
Chief Insp. Romeo Santander of the City Intelligence Branch who led the arrest of Hurandoy last Tuesday refused to elaborate on the role of a woman linked to the murder.
Police are looking into the role of this woman whom Hurandoy said met with another suspect, Allan Senogat, two days before the ambush in barangay Mambaling.
The woman met with Senogat in Plaza Independencia and appeared in deep conversation with the cohort, according to Hurandoy.
The gunman said in the morning of Jan. 6, 2009, he was driving a motrocycle in barangay Tabunok, Talisay City, when Senogat approached and gave him P200 for gasoline for an afternoon ride.
Later, when they were driving through the South Coastal Road, Senogat said they have a target to be shot for a fee of P50,000.
They then proceeded to a bakery in Ma. Gochan Street, barangay Mambaling, Hurandoy said.
When they arrived at Ma. Gochan Street, Senogat walked a few meters away and talked to someone on his cellular phone.
Later, Senogat drove a motorcycle through several streets in the area until they were beside a silver Toyota Revo van, Hurandoy said.
Senogat gave Hurandoy a .45 pistol and told him “tirahi (hit him),” referring to the driver of the car.
Hurandoy said he shot four times at the driver’s side door and windshield of the car.
They went to Tabunok, Talisay City and he continued conveying passengers.
When he learned the next day that their victim was Osorio, Hurandoy said he left for Barili town, soutwest Cebu to hide.
He then went to barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City, Bohol province and finally to barangay Guba in Cebu City where he was arrested.
