DTCC ready for BP National
THE Dancesports Team Cebu City is itching to strut its wares in the Batang Pinoy National Finals on Nov. 19-23 in Bacolod City.
DTCC head coach Loloy Rendon, in a text message to Cebu Daily News, yesterday said that members of the DTCC training pool are now ready for the Batang Pinoy Nationals.
“Yes, our training pools are very much ready (for the Batang Pinoy National Finals),” Rendon stated in his text message.
The Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), had earlier announced that the Cebu junior team is seeded in dancesports only, while delegations from Zamboanga City, Bacolod City and Negros Occidental are seeded in all sports but are only allowed to endorse one team per sport.
DTCC helped Team Cebu City retain its overall crown in the recent Batang Pinoy-Visayas Qualifying Leg in Maasin City, Southern Leyte after its bets in the juvenile category won five of the six gold medals in the sport along with five silvers and four bronze medals.
Team Cebu City hauled 88 gold, 57 silver and 28 bronze medals in the regional finals for athletes aged 15 and below.
Article continues after this advertisementAgain expected to lead the DTCC cast in the BP National Finals are Juvenile A Latin category gold medalists Carl Nathanyl Papellero and Jasmine Kate Labra and the silver medal-winning pair of Francis Isaia Diluvio and Anndreah Kiem Capangpangan.
Article continues after this advertisementAlso joining DTCC in the national finals are Juvenile D Latin 2 silver medalists Jaydel Fresh Pat and Ouieselene Rendon, Juvinile C Latin (3) champions Ryan Joshua Romeo and Paige Ianah Silud, Jezekiah Sobrevega and Rydel Rowella Pat.
The Cebuano dancers are expecting stiff competition from the other qualifiers in the Luzon and Mindanao legs in this tournament supported by the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) and local government units.
