P25-M ‘shabu’ confiscated after arrest of suspected big-time drug dealer
MANILA, Philippines—Roughly P25-million worth of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, or “shabu,” were confiscated following the arrest of an alleged “big-time” drug dealer in a buy-bust operation in Makati City Thursday afternoon, police said.
PNP-Anti Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force Special Operation Unit 3 chief, Police Superintendent Ismael Fajardo, identified the arrested suspect as Joel Maglare, 47, resident of Griate Street, Barangay (village) Hulo, Mandaluyong City.
He was arrested after he went into a drug transaction with a poseur buyer, and agreed to meet along infront of Rapide Auto Service in Chino Roces Avenue, Pio Del Pilar, Makati City around 12:30 p.m.
Aside from the P1.2 million buy-bust money for the deal, also confiscated during the operation were 5 kilograms of shabu worth P25 million, and a blue Nissan Sentra with license plate ZLE 805.
Fajardo said the Maglare face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and is now detained in Camp Crame, Quezon City.
