Palace says no half-day work in government offices Thursday

MANILA, Philippines – There will be no half-day work in government offices today (Thursday), the Palace said in a release by state-run news agency.

According to Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Sonny Coloma, Jr., Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa said Thursday that offices in the government will observe regular work schedule.

“Work and services in all government agencies and offices will be regular,” Coloma said.

While Malacañang had announced November 1 as a regular non-working holiday to observe All Saints’ Day and All Souls’  Day, it did not declare October 31 as a national holiday.

The PCOO secretary said the Palace leaves the discretion to private firms if they would allow their employees to leave early as preparation for tomorrow’s holiday.
