FOUR more teams are set to strut their stuff for the first time this season as the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup continues today at the Ynares Arena in Pasig City.
The Zambales M-Builders hope to get back to winning today when they tackle the Wangs Basketball Courier in the opener at 12 noon. This will be followed by the season debuts of both the Arellano-Air21 Express and the Hog’s Breath Razor Backs at 2pm. Rounding out the triple-header will the Cebuana Lhuillier Gems which battle the Café France Bakers at 4 p.m.
Mark Bringas proved to be the biggest thorn on the side of the Builders last Tuesday as he hit a corner jumper with three seconds left to lift the Cagayan Valley Rising Suns to a 91-87 win that evened out Zambales’ record at 1-1 (win-loss). But the Builders will be looking to rebound against a Wang’s team that will be led by former Mapua star Mark Acosta and Ervic Vijandre.
Cebuana Lhuillier meanwhile, will be bannered by the core of the University of the East Red Warriors led by super guard Roi Sumang and former University of the Visayas ace, Ralph Olivares.
Air21 will be bolstered by stalwarts from the Arellano University Chiefs while Hog’s Breath will lean on Cebuano Julius Pasculado, Jose Rizal University gunner Joseph Paniamogan and Letran wingman, Kevin Racal. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
