Group donates P2M for Lorega housing
The Action for Nurturing Children and Environment (ANCE) donated P2 million to Gawad Kalinga.
Fr. Max Abalos, chief executive officer of ANCE, turned over the money that will be used to fund the construction of seven three-story condominiums in barangay Lorega-San Miguel, Cebu City.
“This is part of our call to answer the housing needs of the people,” Fr. Abalos said.
The project, in partnership with the local government unit of Cebu City, is part of the organization’s campaign to build a community for cemetery dwellers.
The construction of seven three-story condominiums is targeted to benefit 300 families.
ANCE’s donation will be able to build eight condo units for cemetery dwellers from barangays Carreta and Lorega-San Miguel.
