More areas under Signal No. 1—Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — More areas were placed under Signal No. 1 as tropical storm Vinta (international name Krosa) slightly intensified and accelerated as it continued to move west towards Isabela-Cagayan area midday Wednesday.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said the following areas were under Signal

Vinta was last spotted 700 kilometers east of Casiguran in Aurora, packing maximum sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour near the center and gusts of up to 90 kph.

It was forecast to move west at 22 kph.

Pagasa said that Vinta was expected to make landfall in Isabela-Cagayan area by Thursday morning.
