Veco helps restore power in Bohol town
The Visayan Electric Company sent two emergency crews to Loon, Bohol last Oct. 22 to help Bohol Electric Cooperative Inc. 1 (Boheco 1) restore electricity in the area.
Various towns in Bohol had no power after a 7.2-magnitude quake rocked Bohol on Oct. 15 at past 8 a.m.
Veco chief operating officer Sebastian Lacson called up Boheco 1 general manager Dino Roxas to offer them help in restoring electricity.
“We understand how vital electricity is and so we need to help one another by providing more manpower, equipment and vehicles,” said Lacson.
Immediately upon their arrival in Loon, the crew started clearing broken wires and isolating service wires from damaged houses. “We had to clear the streets from broken wires to keep the people safe,” said Lordelio Gentiles, the foreman of the emergency crew.
Electricity was restored with five power transformers along the town’s major road repaired.
