Today, Oct. 29, is the 147th birth anniversary of patriot, journalist, scientist and soldier Gen. Antonio Luna. The youngest brother of artist Juan Luna was born in Binondo, Manila, in 1866. While in Madrid, he became active in the Propaganda Movement and used the pen name “Taga Ilog” to write “Impresiones,” a satirical observation of Spanish customs.—Schatzi Quodala, Inquirer Research
