MANILA, Philippines—The Philippine National Police (PNP) has recorded 13 election-related violent incidents in various parts of the country in the last 24 hours.
At a press conference, PNP Deputy Director Felipe Rojas, National Task Force commander, said the critical period is during the closing of precincts and proclamation of winners.
“Violence incidents usually happen at this time,” Rojas said adding that automated election is easier to secure than manual election.
Election-related violence in the Barangay elections has increased compared to the 2010 polls.
