RAMA: SIMPLE BIRTHDAY GATHERING

Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama will be turning 59 on Monday and would rather have a simple gathering with family and friends at his residence in Rama compound in Basak San Nicolas to celebrate his birthday.

“I’ll spend it at home. I didn’t send invitations because it’s the barangay elections ,” Rama said in Bisaya.

APARTMENTS FOR NAVY PERSONNEL

At least 40 Navy personnel and their families can have a place to stay in during the duration of their tour in Cebu after the completion of construction of the four 10-door apartment type buildings inside the Naval Forces Central (Navforcen) compound in Cebu.

The project will provide shelter for those navy personnel assigned in operational areas in Visayas and Mindanao, said Philippine Navy Chief, Vice Admiral Jose Luis Alano during yesterday’s blessing of two of the completed buildings which was also the 36th anniversary of Navforcen.

The P47 million apartment building project is funded from the Malampaya Fund which has been questioned recently after some government officials apparently squandered P900 million of the fund.

“We will assure the Filipino people that there will be proper utilization of these buildings for transparency,” Alano said.
