The Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC) secondary football team logged its second straight victory in the 6th Pintaflores National Football Festival in San Carlos City after routing the heavily favored Barotac Nuevo Iloilo selection, 3-0, Friday night.
The win gave the Cebuanos the lead in Group A of the team standings.
DBTC ace booter Glenn Thomas Ramos initiated the team’s scoring spree as he converted a goal in the 30th minute. The Ilonggos almost scored an equalizer after a penalty kick.
But DBTC remained composed and focused on the game and managed to nail another goal in the first five minutes of the second half courtesy of Christian Agot.
Angelo Ouano contributed another goal in the last two minutes of the game to help the Cebuanos secure a semifinals berth.
In the Final Four, DBTC will face fellow Cebuanos Abellana National School. That game will be played this afternoon.
ANS, coached by Francis Ramirez, edged Central Philippines University, 1-0, also last Friday afternoon.
Jake Ramos’ breakaway move in the 14th minute gave ANS its winning goal.
According to Ramirez, his team suffered a 0-7 loss to host team San Carlos City selection yesterday afternoon. Despite the loss, it still managed to advance to the semifinals.
Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) recovered from a humiliating loss over DBTC last Thursday after winning over Victorias selection, 5-0, last Friday afternoon. DBTC was facing Iloilo as of this writing.
