PBSP Visayas raises P1.1M; delivers special relief packs

WHAT’S in your relief pack?

Staff of the Philippine Business for Social Progress Visayas yesterday sent its first wave of relief operations to Bohol, delivering goods specially packed with an eye for nutrition and practical needs.

PBSP relief packs follow the international SPHERE standard for a family of five:

· 8 kilos of rice

· 4 cans of sardines

· ½ kilo monggo beans

· ½ kilo dried fish

· 2 175-ml pouches of cooking oil

· 6-liter bottle of water

·1 kilo sugar

·1 kilo salt

·1 pail

·1 detergent bar

They aim to reach 1,350 households in the most affected barangays in Loon and Maribojoc towns in a two-day swing.

The foundation raised P1.190 million in cash donations and pledges, including P1 million from EPSON Precision Philippines. Other donations in kind from member companies extend aid for 130 more households.

Field visits will also check isolated barangays in the towns of Buenavista, Clarin, Danao and Sagbayan as well as PBSP project sites in Carmen, Dagohoy and San Miguel.
