ACCENTURE’S top gun Archie Brian Batua leads the awardees in the 2013 season of the E-League for Basketball.
The awarding ceremony is tentatively scheduled on Nov. 9 at the City Sports Club-Cebu Gym.
Batua pocketed the Rookie of the Year award and was also named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) in the southern conference where he led the Sharks to the championship round opposite the Lexmark Stallions.
The best-of-three series is tied at one-game apiece. The winner in that match will play in the E-League Finals against early qualifier Aegis Vipers.
It marks the second straight year that a rookie won the league’s top two awards after Stream’s Sylvester Millevo won the same accolades last year.
Although Stream failed to defend its crown this season, Millevo will still be bringing home another major award after he was named the MVP in the northern conference.
Millevo and Batua were joined in the Mythical Five by Ryan Veloso (Aegis), Franco Angelo Cipriano (Lexmark) and Ryan Edward Llanos (Accenture).
The league will also recognize the statistical leaders, which include Eperformax’s Robert Gilo (2.67 blocks per game) Lexmark’s Giovanni Villahermosa (4.4 assists per game), Telstra’s Clifford Amarado (23.57 points per game) Batua (9.60 rebounds per game) and Christian Judilla (2.9 steals per game). /EDITORIAL ASSISTANT CALVIN D.
