THE CAST OF QUALIFIERS for the Tournament of Champions (ToC) from the Visayas has been completed following stirring wins by the Central Philippines University (CPU) and the Leyte National High School in their respective regional tournaments in the 2013 Shakey’s Girls V-League Season 11.
The Central Visayas plum was won by the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) after they slipped past St. Theresa’s College (STC) in an exciting five-setter, 25-21, 22-25, 25-23, 19-25, 15-8, last weekend.
CPU likewise booked its ticket to the nationals after rallying from a 1-2 set deficit to beat St. John’s Institute, 23-25, 25-15, 16-25, 25-21, 15-10, and capture the Western Visayas leg crown just recently.
The Eastern Visayas crown was taken by the Leyte National High School after it upended New Ormoc City National High School.
Following the Visayas clashes will be the NCR eliminations, which will be held Oct. 27 to Nov. 10 in Manila while three more regional qualifiers are slated next month, including the Mindanao stage on Nov. 14 to 17 in Davao, the Northern Luzon leg on Nov. 21 to 24 in Baguio and the Southern Luzon eliminations on Nov. 27 to 30 in Imus City, Cavite /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
