MANILA, Philippines — Damage to properties caused by the 7.2 magnitude earthquake last week increased to P902 million, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said Tuesday.
These include damaged roads, bridges, schools, hospitals and other infrastructure
In Cebu, a total of P132.25 million worth of damages was recorded and P763.58 million in Bohol.
Damage to properties in Siquijor was at P6.65 million and P250,000 in Negros Oriental.
As of Tuesday morning, 190 was reportedly killed — 177 in Bohol, 12 i Cebu and 1 in Siquijor.
There were 605 injured, 511 of which were from Bohol, 89 in Cebu, one in Iloilo, three in Siquijor and one in Negros Oriental.
There are still 11 missing — all from Bohol province.
Affected persons were 2.9 million in 1,282 villages in the regions of Western and Central Visayas. Some 111,239 of these are housed in evacuation centers.
Damaged houses increased to 53,439, with 14,253 of these completely destroyed.
The total cost of assistance provided by the government was nearly P17 million.
As of 5 a.m., the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology recorded 2,384 aftershocks, 57 of which were felt.
