Farmer killed while having supper

A 67-YEAR-OLD farmer was shot dead while he and his blind wife were having dinner inside their house in Sta. Rosa, a mountain barangay in Danao City, northern Cebu.

Police are having a hard time identifying the culprit in the killing of Teodorico Malinao Santerna since no one claimed to have witnessed the incident.

The houses in the area are far from each other. The barangay is located at least 15 kilometers from the city proper.

The wife told police that she only learned that her was husband was shot when the victim shouted for help.

Police said the couple was eating when the victim was shot in the chest past 7 p.m. Sunday.

The victim was brought to the Cebu Provincial Hospital but did not make it alive.  /CORRESPONDENT CHRISTINE EMILY L. PANTALEON
