Caloocan village chief bet wounded in shooting

MANILA, Philippines – An incumbent village councillor running for village chieftain post was shot and wounded in Caloocan City amid the gun ban rule set for the upcoming elections next week, police said.

Senior Superintendent Bernard Tambaoan, Caloocan City Police chief, identified the victim as Victor Ando.

Ando is said to be running for chieftain post in the city’s Barangay 160.

Caloocan Police’s District Tactical Operations Center said the incident transpired at Libis Baesa in Caloocan City around 9:30 a.m. The victim was rushed to the hospital, Tambaoan said.
