Police Officer 2 Georga Caculba, the officer assigned to investigate the case, said that although her head was nowhere to be found, the woman was identified as Fely Bautista by a nephew who recognized the ring on one of her fingers, the favorite house dress she had on, and the red nail polish on her toes.
He said the woman, about 50 years old, was a resident of Barangay (village) San Jose, Montalban, Rizal.
Street sweepers discovered the woman’s body parts on Payatas Road in Barangay Payatas B around 5 a.m. The torso, which had a dress on, was first to be found, wrapped in plastic and stuffed inside a rice sack. The arms and legs were stashed inside a rice sack five meters away.
Licencio Ferara, 32, the woman’s nephew, told investigators he did not know of anyone who wanted his aunt dead. Bautista lived alone as caretaker of a property owned by a Wilfredo Sumulong Torres, Caculba reported Ferara as saying.
The victim’s nephew said he had been searching for his aunt after hearing from neighbors that she was abducted around 7:30 p.m. the previous night by two men who then shoved her inside their white van.
On Saturday morning, Ferara learned from a jeepney driver that a woman’s cut up body had been found in Barangay Payatas B.
