Around two million people joined the funeral march for former Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr. on Aug. 31, 1983. The 30-kilometer funeral march from Sto. Domingo Church in Quezon City to Manila Memorial Park in Parañaque, which lasted 11 hours, is said to be one of the longest funeral marches in the world’s history.—Schatzi Quodala, Inquirer Research
