MANILA, Philippines—Residents of an isolated mountain area in Bohol province have been rescued by rescue teams sent by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority.

In a Twitter post Friday, MMDA (@mmda) said the victims were rescued in Tan-awan, Loon, Bohol, after three hours of trekking the mountain.

It said the victims included 10 elderly people, three babies, and 21 other children.  One elderly, however, is badly injured, it added.

Loon was one of the areas isolated in the wake of Tuesday’s 7.2 magnitude earthquake after the roads leading to it were rendered impassable.

MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino said the rescued victims would be taken to a facility for medical treatment.
