The Department of Social Welfare and Development in Central Visayas (DSWD) is asking for donations for the earthquake victims.

Grace Yana from the Quick Response Team of the DSWD is encouraging the public to donate goods, such as clothing, blankets, mats, mosquito nets, slippers, toiletries, kitchen and cooking utensils, food and water.

The goods will be distributed to the towns in Bohol that were heavily damaged by the 7.2 magnitude quake last Tuesday.

The agency is still packing P2 million worth of family packs for dispatch to the affected areas round the clock.

A group of students from Holy Name University Tagbilaran helped in packing and handling the relief goods. Thirteen Pantawid Pamilya beneficiaries also helped pack rice and canned goods.

Each family pack contains 3 kilos of rice and 7 assorted canned goods.

The DSWD has set up an operation center in Social Welfare and Development (SWAD)–Bohol at the Circumferential Road in Tagbilaran City to fast track the distribution of family food packs to the affected families.

The DSWD has installed a donation desk at its regional office on M.J. Cuenco Avenue and Gen. Maxilom Avenue, Cebu City to accept more donations for the quake victims.
