Security guard shoots ‘illegal settler’

A 32-YEAR-OLD man was shot by a security guard after they argued in barangay Mactan, Lapu-Lapu City.

Arnold Pinote was rushed to the Mactan Doctors’ Hospital with a gunshot wound in the face.

The suspect, Roberto Davis, security guard of Gaisano Land, was arrested by police after the incident.

Police said Davis was guarding a vacant lot where structures built by informal settles were demolished a few day ago.

Around 5 p.m. Tuesday, Davis saw Pinote rebuilding his house in the vacant lot.

Davis reprimanded Pinote which resulted in a heated argument until the security guard pulled out a shotgun and shot the victim. /CORRESPONDENT NORMAN V. MENDOZA
