Aguilar looks to put more distance in Kopiko ROY race

GLENN Aguilar stayed on top of the Pro-open division rankings to strengthen his bid to be named “Rider of the Year” in the ongoing Kopiko 3-in-1 Astig Supercross Series that will visit Ormoc City for its ninth leg on Oct. 26-27.

Aguilar has accumulated 350 points after ruling five of eight legs in the ongoing series. He is trailed by Cebuano John Eleazar Adlawan who has 334 points.

Despite dominating the Pro-lite category, Adlawan needs to beat Aguilar in the ninth leg at the Robinsons Land open area in Ormoc City to boost his bid for the coveted RoY award with only four legs remaining in the series.

Adlawan inched closer to Aguilar in the standings when he captured the Pro-open crown last Sept. 15 in Ilo-ilo City. He also beat Aguilar in the fourth leg in Dumaguete City and in the sixth leg in Tacloban City.

Rhowell Mangosong III is in third place with 293 points followed by Adlawan’s teammate Jubenile Abellar with 271 points. Donark Yuzon and Ted Conde are in fifth and sixth spots with 252 and 174 points, respectively.

In seventh to 10th places after eight legs are Ambo Yaparcon (158), Wensor Pamorca (123), Danish Nikolaj Larsen (50) and Nonoy Rellosa (42).

According to Man and Machines Racing Promotions Operations Manager Jake Alcordo, they are now preparing for the ninth leg and they are expecting again to draw more than a hundred riders that will compete in 13 categories.
