THE SOUTHWESTERN University jins will go for another victory in the 2013 Smart-Philippine Taekwondo League (PTL), which will resume this October 20 at the SM Consolacion in Consolacion town northern Cebu.
The SWU Cobras’ junior girls team under coach Raul Luna will go up against a yet to be named foe in their division hoping to duplicate their victory the last time out.
SWU trampled their Cabangcalan National High School team in their last outing after tallying an accumulated score of 63 points over Cabancalan’s 40 in both the individual and tag team events of the competition that is being spearheaded by Olympian and Taekwondo Ambassador Monsour del Rosario and Barcelona Olympic Bronze Medalist Stephen Fernandez.
Expected to once again anchor SWU’s campaign are Lorelee Natividad, Nicole Elpa, Lyza Mae Sabellano, Florlyn Cabo, Ashley Venus Bongon and Roan Begontes.
Meanwhile, Arellano University snared the lead in the junior boys division in the NCR edition of this tourney after garnering a total of five wins with no loss while Far Eastern University (3-1) and University of the East (2-1) are at the second and third places, respectively. /Correspondent JADE S.
