Game 3 of PBA Finals today

Game today:

Araneta Coliseum

8 p.m.- San Mig Coffee vs. Petron

MAKING the needed defensive adjustments, the San Mig Coffee Mixers were able to level the 38th PBA Governors’ Cup at two games apiece.

It’s Petron Blaze’s turn to adjust.

The Coffee Mixers and the Boosters fight for a critical 2-1 series lead when they clash tonight for Game Three of the best-of-seven series at the Araneta Coliseum

Petron won Game One, 100-84, but San Mig’s stingy defense held up in Game Two to pull off a 100-933 victory.

“I thought we executed well, spread the floor really well, we didn’t let them take over the paint. We were able to spread them out a little bit tonight,” San Mig coach Tim Cone told pba.ph.

The Coffee Mixers attempted a total of 55 free throws and made 29. The Boosters only earned 31 trips to the charity and made 21.

“We just couldn’t get to the line even though we were aggressive enough, we were attacking,” said Petron coach Gee Abanilla.

Elijah Millsap scored 31 but fouled in the closing minutes along with Arwind Santos and June Mar Fajardo.

“When you have your best three players fouling out, it changes the complexion of our game,” Abanilla added. “I’m just hopeful we could adjust to the calls in this series and we shouldn’t be affected by them.” /EDITORIAL ASSISTANT CALVIN D. CORDOVA
