Moderate rains forecast for Metro Manila, Visayas on Wednesday

MANILA, Philippines—An intertropical convergence zone will induce light to moderate rains in southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, including the areas hit by the 7.2-magnitude earthquake on Tuesday.

Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol Region, Visayas and Caraga will have cloudy skies and light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said in its Wednesday morning bulletin.

The rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, it added.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast to north will prevail over Luzon and its coastal waters will be moderate to rough. Light to moderate winds coming from the north to northwest will prevail over the Visayas and from the north to northeast over Mindanao with slight to moderate seas.
