THE Department of Trade and Industry in Central Visayas (DTI) joins the nation in celebrating the Consumer Welfare Month and the National Standards Week in 2013.
This year’s celebration will be filled with consumer welfare related activities, including the Bohol Youth Consumer Summit 2013 organized by the Consumer Watch-Bohol Inc., in coordination with the DTI at the Dao Diamond Hotel in Tagbilaran City.
The activity was participated by students from the five colleges in Bohol, and tackled topics like consumer rights and responsibilities, price and price tag, as well as product standard monitoring activities.
In flood hit areas of Negros Oriental, the DTI Negros Oriental Provincial Office continues to monitor prices of basic goods and prime commodities.
The four areas were badly hit by floods because of heavy rains that lasted for about three days.
The DTI provincial office will continue to conduct price monitoring of basic and prime commodities daily for a week in coordination with the Center for Consumer Welfare to prevent stores from taking advantage of the disaster.
