SWU logs easy win over CDU

THE GRAND-SLAM-SEEKING Southwestern University (SWU) Lady Cobras showcased their readiness for the incredible feat as they debuted with a three-set romp over the Cebu Doctors’ University (CDU) in the women’s division of the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (CESAFI) volleyball tournament yesterday at the Aznar Coliseum.
The wards of head coach Jordan Paca got every bit of exposure in as they toyed with CDU en route to logging in a 25-15, 25-23, 25-10 win.
Rapril Aguilar, Lorie Layno, Fritzie Aligway, Danika Gendrauli, Princess Pido and Marlyn Llagoso all displayed tremendous improvements to their individual skills as they played crisply, which brought delight to RP coach and team consultant Sammy Acaylar.
The University of San Carlos (USC) also came away with a win as they trounced the University of Cebu (UC), 25-14, 25-17, 25-15.
In girls action, SWU’s junior squad, debuted in style as they overcame USC, 15-25, 25-20, 25-22, while the 10-time defending champions University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) blasted UC, 25-19, 25-18.

Meanwhile, today’s playdate will be highlighted by the matchup between the USJ-R Spiking Jaguars and the University of the Visayas in the men’s division./Correspondent Jonas Panerio
