Woman with colon cancer needs money to buy medicines

Roditha del Rosario

A week before Roditha del Rosario was operated on for colon cancer, doctors diagnosed her to be “merely suffering” from amoebiasis, an intestinal illness that causes loose bowel movement, stomach pain and cramps.

“Things happened very fast. She was asked to return to the hospital for a full abdominal ultrasound; the next thing we knew she was suffering from excruciating pain,” Jacqueline del Rosario said of her 57-year-old mother.

Jacqueline said that after the operation, a biopsy was done. She added that she was appealing to Inquirer readers “because the medicines my mother are taking are very expensive. She also needs injections. In one week alone, we need to spend P42,000.”
