The NATIONAL Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Anti-Fraud and Action Division is hunting down a woman who has been reportedly misrepresenting herself as an agent of Cohen’s Lifestyle Centre Philippines and selling fake Cohen’s Lifestyle eating plans to unsuspecting clients.

Rowena San Juan Sta. Ana of Pandi, Bulacan province, has been allegedly requesting blood tests and then selling Cohen’s Lifestyle Programs to prospective clients in exchange for P15,000.

However, a complaint filed in the NBI noted that Cohen’s Lifestyle Centre Philippines, which holds offices in Bonifacio Global City and Cebu province, “has not assigned any individual or company to act as an agent of the company for the purpose of selling eating programs nor screening individuals to determine their suitability for Cohen’s program.”

Sta. Ana’s lack of credentials puts her clients at risk as the program is scientifically formulated based on a person’s blood test results, the complaint added.

According to the company, the Cohen’s Lifestyle Program uses a highly individualized approach to weight loss and considers natural, healthy food as medicine which must be taken in precise dosages. It is therefore dangerous for individuals to undergo a program that is not based on their own blood profile.

It is also important that proper health screening is conducted by trained and qualified consultants of the Cohen’s Lifestyle Centre to determine suitability to the program, it stressed.

For her alleged illegal practices, Sta. Ana is being investigated for violation of Article 315 of the Revised Penal Code (Estafa) and Section 168 of the Intellectual Property Code (unfair competition).
