MANILA, Philippines–Two people were killed when a pre-dawn fire gutted several homes in Makati City Friday.
Senior Fire Officer 3 Librado Villanueva identified the fatalities as Danilo Deloviar, 60; and Grace Quintanar, 35.
The two were killed when fire blazed through still undetermined number of houses in Barangay (village) West Rembo in Makati City at 12:19 a.m.
The fire reached Task Force Alpha before it was put out an hour later.
A radio report said the bodies were recovered around 4:30 a.m.
The report said investigators have yet to determine the cause of fire, but added that authorities were looking at a lighted candle left unattended, considering that the area didn’t have electricity prior the fire.
