12 Zamboanga flights canceled due to runway flooding

MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) on Wednesday announced the cancellation of at least a dozen flights going to and from Zamboanga City due to bad weather.

The DOTC in separate posts over Twitter said the following Cebu Pacific and PAL Express flights were canceled:

5J-851 MNL-Zamboanga

5J-852 Zamboanga-MNL.

5J-857 MNL-Zamboanga

5J-858 Zamboanga-MNL

2P-993 MNL-Zamboanga

2P-994 Zamboanga-MNL

2P-995 MNL-Zamboanga

2P-996 Zamboanga -MNL

2P-997 MNL- Zamboanga

2P-998 Zamboanga -MNL

2P-5995 MNL- Zamboanga

2P-5996 Zamboanga-MNL

The Philippine Information Authority Region IX (PIA-9) also reported that the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has again grounded all commercial flights at the Zamboanga International Airport because of “the flooded runway.”

A Notice to Airmen on the suspension of commercial operations at the airport was extended by CAAP, said Radyo Inquirer 990AM.
