Kalinga jail official shot dead
MANILA, Philippines—An assistant provincial jail warden of Kalinga was shot dead by two unidentified suspects in Tabuk, Kalinga on Monday, a police report said.
Initial investigation said the victim, Reynante Baday, was onboard his tricycle along Hilltop Road in Bulanao, Tabuk when he was repeatedly shot at close range. The suspects fled towards Greenhills Employees Village, the report said.
The victim was brought to Kalinga General Hospital but later died due to multiple gunshot wounds on his body, the report said.
The motive behind the incident was still unknown and a pursuit operation was being conducted for the possible identification and arrest of the suspects, the report said.
