MANILA, Philippines – Parts of Southern Luzon, Visayas and Northern Mindanao will experience rains and cool weather as a low pressure area continues to affect the regions, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Friday.
Pagasa said the low pressure area was observed 170 kilometers east of Catbalogan City.
Bicol Region, Visayas and Northern Mindanao will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms. Rains will become widespread over the Bicol Region and Visayas. These may trigger flash floods and landslides, Pagasa’s report warned.
The rest of Southern Luzon and Mindanao will likewise have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms, while the rest of Luzon will experience cloudy skies with isolated rains, or thunderstorms, Pagasa said.
“Light to moderate winds blowing from the East to Southeast will prevail over Northern Luzon, and coming from the East to Northeast over the rest of the country. Coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate,” Pagasa added.
