Typhoon ‘Ramil’ enters PH area of responsibility
MANILA — Typhoon “Danas” has entered the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) Sunday afternoon and was named “Ramil,” the weather bureau said.
It was last spotted 1,170 kilometers east of Itbayat, Batanes and was forecast to move northwest at 26 kilometers per hour, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
The typhoon is packing maximum sustained winds of 130 kph near the center and gusts of up to 160 kph, Pagasa added.
Ramil is expected not to affect any part of the country until it exits the PAR by Monday afternoon, Pagasa said. /INQUIRER
