A 17-YEAR-OLD boy was stabbed dead while trying to pacify a fight in barangay Paknaan, Mandaue City.
The boy suffered a stab wound in the back and was declared dead when he was brought to the Mandaue City District Hospital.
Police said the alleged assailant, Gendry Georpe, 21, fled after the incident.
Police said the victim and his friend Leonard Casia were having a drinking session at dawn yesterday when Georpe passed by. Casia told police that he offered Georpe a drink but the suspect got irked.
The two men argued until Georpe hit Casia in the head with a bottle.
The boy intervened and asked the two men to calm down but was stabbed instead by Georpe, police said./CORRESPONDENT NORMAN V. MENDOZA
