Robbers hit Carcar store

A STORE selling poultry and livestock supplies lost the day’s earnings to robbers in sitio Awayan, barangay Poblacion 3, Carcar City last Friday morning.

SPO3 Jorame Tanodtanod, investigator of Carcar City Police, said two robbers took P10,000 from JM Poulty Livestock Supply. One of the robbers pointed a .38 caliber revolver at the cashier, Tito Dumanic.

Dumanic said the robber was wearing a black helmet, a jacket and black pants while the other one drove the getaway black motorcycle.

The suspects pretended to be customers. Another employee, Arthur Heruela of barangay Uling, Naga City grabbed a plastic chair and struck the robber, but the armed man pointed a gun.

Tanodtanod said the robbers could have been “local boys” and may not necessarily be connected with the robbery-holdup of a Metrobank janitor-messenger who lost P1.2 million in barangay Valladolid last Sept. 27.

The Metrobank robbers were also riding a motorcycle and wore helmets when they held up Marvin Dazo Cababan.

Tanodtanod, who is the same investigator handling the Metrobank robbery, pointed out that the robbers used high powered firearms.

Metrobank has yet to issue a statement on the incident contrary to a promise made by their represenative, Armand B. Dela Cruz, head of the bank’s Mambaling Branch, when they requested not to name the bank when the incident broke out.  /CORRESPONDENT GABRIEL C. BONJOC
