SWU spikers oust UV
THE SPIKERS of Southwestern University (SWU) gained some measure of revenge against the University of the (UV) Visayas for their title loss in the basketball tournament last Thursday night as the Cobras booted the Lancers out of contention with a four-set win in the semifinals of the Cesafi men’s volleyball tournament Friday night at the Aznar Coliseum.
SWU surrendered the men’s basketball title to UV in a heartbreaking loss in Game Five at the Cebu Coliseum. With that in mind, the Spiking Cobras buckled down and defeated the Lancers, 25-19, 25-21, 19-25, 25-23, to move closer towards clinching a berth in the finals.
In the high school division, USP-F also neared a berth in the finals after they took care of Don Bosco, 25-9, 25-20. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
