Fake Auto Parts
Five persons were charged in court for allegedly selling counterfeit Bosch automative parts in downtown Cebu City.
Johnny Go, Ernesto Ang, Maria Uy and Josephine Go, owners of Kapitan Parts Center Co.; and Felisa Escalona of Cebu Victory Auto were accused of violating Republic Act 8293 or the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines.
Bail was recommended at P10,000 for each of the accused.
The issue stemmed from a complaint of Robert Bosch Inc., which accused them of selling and distributing counterfeit Bosch products.
In 2006, Bosch asked the National Bureau of Investigation in Central Visayas (NBI-7) to investigate persons behind the sale and distribution of counterfeit Bosch products.
Bosch Philippines found that the products sold at Yu’s store were counterfeited.

A BARANGAY captain of Sangat, San Fernando town, in northern Cebu, was censured for traveling out of the country without securing travel authorization from the mayor back in 2008.
The Office of the Ombudsman in the Visayas held Conigunda Enriquez administratively liable of violating office rules and regulations when she failed to file a leave of absence to travel outside the country.
Enriquez was ordered “reprimanded” by the Ombudsman.
She was warned that a similar violation would result in severe sanctions.
Former San Fernando mayor Lakambini Reluya filed a complaint against Enriquez, who traveled to India to attend her daughter’s wedding last March 27, 2008.
She said she was unable to secure approval to travel or to file an application for leave.
She insisted that her job as a barangay captain wasn’t compromised.
But the anti-graft office still found sufficient basis against the respondent. Reporter Ador Vincent Mayol
