The First Philippine Conference on New Evangelization (PCNE) will be held on Oct. 16-18 at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila.
The conference convened by Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle heeds the call of Blessed Pope John Paul II, as continued by Pope Emeritus Benedict and Pope Francis, to make evangelization more relevant in the face of ever-changing social, technological, cultural, economic, civil and religious landscapes all over the world.
The three-day conference features seminars and workshops open to the religious and the layman.
Two relevant topics, “Downloading God through the Media” and “Encountering God through the Arts,” reflect the Church’s openness in reaching out using new media.
PCNE is the grand climax of the celebration of the Year of Faith in the Archdiocese of Manila, with participants from Brunei, Taiwan, Vietnam and Burma (Myanmar).
