Civil Service exam slated Oct. 13

THE Civil Service Commission in Central Visayas will hold the Career Service Examination Paper and Pencil Test (CSE-PPT) on Oct. 13 in Cebu City. The test will be held in three venues, the Abellana National School, University of Cebu and Cebu Normal University.

Examinees taking the sub-professional level will proceed to the Abellana National School while those taking the professional level will either go to the University of Cebu main campus or to Cebu Normal University.

Examinees may also check their school and room assignment using the Online Notice of School Assignment (ONSA) at www.csc.gov.ph.

The ONSA helps examinees taking the CSE-PPT on Oct. 13 in Cebu, Dumaguete and Tagbilaran City view or print copies of their respective school and room assignment.

S&T scholarship application now open

THE Department of Science and Technology – Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) is inviting college sophomores who are taking up Science, Math and Engineering courses and enrolled in a DOST accredited school to apply for the 2013 Science and Technology Scholarships for College Student.

Application forms are available at the DOST Regional Office in sitio Sudlon, Lahug, Cebu City and at the Provincial Science and Technology Centers in Cebu, Bohol, Negros Oriental and Siquijor.

Forms may also be downloaded at www.science-scholarships.ph or www.sei.dost.gov.ph.

The deadline for filing of application is Oct. 18.

free health services in Siquijor

SOME 1,400 residents of Siquijor province benefitted from the free medical and dental civic action program of the Philippine Army 302nd Brigade and 79th Infantry Battalion, with reservists from 703rd and 704th Community Defense Centers.

The health services were offered at the provincial gymnasium in celebration of the province’s 41st Araw Ng Bayan 2013 with the theme “Siquijor Atong Lungsod, Atong Panggaon.”

These include consultation and dental services, circumcision, eye examination, blood examination and blood pressure examination.

The reservists also offered free haircut and massage to the patients, according to army information officer Capt. Cresencio Gargar.
