2 dead, 3 wounded in shooting incidents

Two people died while three others were wounded in separate shooting incidents in different parts of Cebu on Wednesday.

A police asset identified as Glenn Genonsalao, 33, was shot dead by an unidentified gunman Wednesday evening in barangay Gun-ob, Lapu-Lapu City.

Henonsalao succumbed to gunshot wounds in the face, head, arms and chest. He was rushed to Lapu-Lapu City District Hospital but did not make it alive.

Initial investigation revealed that moments prior to the incident, the victim together with his girlfriend, Janice Laxina, 31, went to Sitio Humay-Humay in Barangay Gun-ob to meet a friend, a certain “Dalton”.

When Dalton approached them, an unidentified man suddenly appeared and fired at Genonsalao.

Laxina reported the incident to the police who accompanied her to the crime scene.

Laxina claimed her boyfriend was a police asset and drug dealers might have blamed him for a drug raid conducted a few weeks ago.

In Cebu City, a habal-habal driver was shot dead by motorcycle-riding gunmen Wednesday noon in Sitio Dita, barangay Pulangbato.

Victim Jose Narra, 35, of baranay Pit-os was sleeping on his motorcycle under a mango tree when he was shot. He sustained gunshot wounds on his back and was declared dead at the Cebu City Medical Center (CCMC).

In Carcar City, Buenaventura Gabrillo sustained multiple gunshot wounds in his body after he was shot by a relative who was allegedly jealous of him.

Gabrillo allegedly attempted to stab Darius Canaya who retaliated by shooting him.

Gabrillo reportedly suspected that Canaya is having an affair with his wife.

In Oslob town, a certain Pelayo Trapa, 45 was shot in the abdomen and arm by his neighbor Eleuterio Macaraig Mantalaba Jr.

Trapa is recuperating in an undisclosed hospital. while the suspect is detained in Oslob Police Station.
