MANILA, Philippines–A Supreme Court Associate Justice all of a sudden became one of the farmer beneficiaries who received assistance sourced from the Malampaya fund, the National Bureau of Investigation said in its complaint for plunder filed with the Office of the Ombudsman.
In its complaint, employees of Janet Lim-Napoles prepared all the documents needed to facilitate the release of the P900-million Malampaya fund including signatures of 97 mayors and names of farmer beneficiaries.
“The lists of farmer-beneficiary recipients were also manufactured, one recipient being a Supreme Court Associate Justice who was purportedly given a bolo, a shovel and assorted seeds,” the NBI complaint said. The complaint, however did not identify the high court justice.
The farmer-beneficiaries were supposed to be victims of typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng.
