In October 1947, President Manuel Roxas signed Executive Order No. 94 that prompted a reorganization of the Department of Public Health and Welfare. The Bureau of Public Welfare and Philippine General Hospital (PGH) were placed under the Office of the President of the Philippines while the department was renamed Department of Health (DOH). Under DOH are the Office of the Secretary, Bureau of Health, Bureau of Quarantine, Bureau of Hospitals and all city health departments.
