2 killed in fast-food robbery in Marikina

MANILA, Philippines— Two were killed, including a security guard, when still unidentified suspects attempted to rob a fast-food chain in Marikina Wednesday evening.

Police Chief Superintendent Miguel Laurel, Eastern Police District director, said about four suspects tried to rob a Jollibee Restaurant located at General Ordonez corner B.B Avenue, Marikina Heights in Barangay Concepcion Dos around 8 p.m.

The security guard, whose name was not immediately available, was killed after he shot it out with the still unidentified suspects.

One of the suspects was also killed when responding police officers arrived.

The three others, on the other hand, managed to escape after they forcibly took a vehicle and drove off.

Laurel said dragnet operations were ongoing for the possible arrest of the suspects.

The shooting incident transpired amid the Commission on Elections gun ban rule.
