Huwarang Pamilya hails from Bohol

The Sederiosa family will represent Region 7 in the DSWD’s search for model 4Ps families.

Sagbayan town is famous for its Sagbayan Peak located on top of a chocolate hill that puts Bohol on the tourism map.

However, Sagbayan has more than just its peak. Its constituents, the family of Hermocilla Sederiosa, won first place in the provincial and regional search for 2013 Huwarang Pantawid Pamilya.

The Sederiosa family will represent Central Visayas in the national competition.

The search was launched by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) last year to recognize the family beneficiaries of its Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) who have religiously followed the conditions of the program and for demonstrating the lessons learned from the family development sessions.

It aims to encourage the beneficiaries to maintain good standing in the community and serve as role models to other families in exercising family values and by being productive.

The Sederiosa family was followed by the Mawili family from San Miguel in second place and Banados Family from Carmen in third place.

The winners from Cebu province were the family of Estrellita Hermocilla from Tabogon (first place), Senia family from Borbon (second) and Patingo family from Catmon (third).

In Negros Oriental, the Gan-anan family from Sta. Catalina, Enopia family from Dauin and the Del Rosario family from Manjuyod bagged first, second and third places, respectively.

The first to third place winners received cash prizes of P7,500, P4,000 and P2,000 respectively in an awarding ceremony held in Sagbayan graced by the DSWD officials, Sagbayan Administrative officer Kirk Suarez, barangay captain Lito Bonajos, and the whole community who pledged support to the Sederiosa family in their quest to win the national search.
